When talking with other funders about the bi3 Fund’s adoption and success with Trust-Based Philanthropy, one common response is, “I don’t think my Board will embrace Trust-Based Philanthropy.” Shifting mindsets is a tremendous undertaking and one that doesn’t happen overnight. bi3, like many other funders, began with a traditional philanthropy model but took our Board on a journey over time, seeking ways that, together with our partners, we could have a more significant impact.
