bi3, along with the Joe Burrow Foundation and Interact for Health, awards 54 area schools funding for World Teen Mental Wellness Day
bi3, the Joe Burrow Foundation and Interact for Health partnered together to engage high school students in developing and participating in activities commemorating World Teen Mental Wellness Day (observed March 1 this year).
World Teen Mental Wellness Day is observed annually to raise awareness for the mental health issues teenagers face daily, promote mental wellness and determine solutions.
Mental health struggles, especially anxiety and depression, are common in teenagers. However, findings show that stigma prevents many teens from seeking help. Many don’t know the resources available in their own schools and communities, and too few know how to engage in self-care.
54 area high schools applied and received $500 each for activities such as wellness fairs, speakers, and the promotion of resources like the National 988 Suicide and Crisis Hotline.
