When Cincinnati, Ohio’s healthcare providers, community leaders and residents, nonprofit organizations, and funders partnered to create a radical model of care and support, they were finally able to move the needle on the city’s (tragic and persistent) wicked problem: infant mortality. Today, over 220 children and counting are alive because of Hamilton County’s collective efforts to save babies.
In their new book, Infant Mortality and Other Wicked Problems, bi3 Fund President & CEO Jill Haubner Miller and Cradle Cincinnati Executive Director Dr. Meredith C. Smith share this inspiring story and provide an adaptable framework for systems change that every community can use.
Jill joined Local 12’s Liz Bonis on What’s Happening in Health to discuss the book and how it can help other communities tackle their own wicked problems. Watch the full interview with Local 12 starting at 00:39:35 to learn more.
