Table of Experts: Improved mental healthcare matters for businesses, employees, and families
Employee mental health is a business priority. More than one in five U.S. adults and youth live with a mental illness, and three-quarters of U.S. workers reported experiencing at least one symptom of a mental health condition, according to the Business Roundtable. It’s an issue for the families of employees too, as family matters can lead to missed work, reduced productivity and a decline in employee wellness.
These issues and more were on the agenda as the Cincinnati Business Courier convened a roundtable of local mental health experts. They were: Debbie Gingrich, Chief Program Officer for Best Point Education & Behavioral Health; Jill Miller, President and CEO of the bi3 Fund; Rick Wurth, CEO of Covington-based OneQuest Health (formerly CHNK Behavioral Health).
The discussion was led by Cincinnati Business Courier Market President and Publisher, Jamie Smith and held May 4 at the Courier’s downtown Cincinnati office. Smith began by asking why the business community should be engaged in the mental wellness journey.
