bi3, HealthPath Foundation, and Interact for Health offer grant awards of
$40,000 over 18 months to strengthen organizational capacity
The bi3 Fund, HealthPath, and Interact for Health are seeking applications for its third cohort for the Data for Equity Funding Collaborative. The Collaborative will award 18-month grants of up to $40,000 to as many as 10 nonprofit and governmental organizations to strengthen their organizational capacity around equitable data and evaluation – ultimately, helping to ensure that everyone has a full, fair, and just opportunity for good health.
Data and evaluation efforts are not inherently objective and unbiased. However, when data accurately captures the experiences of all people—and includes those voices in the data collection process—it can shed light on racial, socioeconomic, and geographic disparities in health outcomes and the underlying barriers and root causes that undermine health and well-being.
Launched with its first grant awards in 2023, the three local health funders created the Data for Equity Funding Collaborative in response to feedback from grantee partners about areas of organizational capacity they hoped to strengthen.
To date, Data for Equity has supported two cohorts, providing 21 organizations with grants, training, technical assistance, and shared learning opportunities focused on topics such as community engagement, ethical storytelling, and culturally responsive and equitable evaluation.
Data for Equity participants reported a better understanding of data methodology and ways to embed equity from start to finish in data and evaluation efforts. They also benefitted from being part of the supportive cohort, building new relationships and partnerships through their experience.
Based on feedback, the Funding Collaborative has adapted and expanded the Data for Equity initiative through 2027. This next phase includes two additional grantee cohorts; larger, longer grants; support for cohort alumni; and the development of a broader community of practice.
Proposals are due at 5 p.m. EDT on Friday, February 7. A proposal webinar will be held on Thursday, December 12, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. to answer questions about the RFP and application process.
Visit Data for Equity’s website at www.cincinnatidataforequity.com to view the complete details of the request for proposals, register for the webinar, or apply.
