bi3, Hopeful Empowered Youth (HEY!), Interact for Heath and The Joe Burrow Foundation award 83 area schools funding for World Teen Mental Wellness Day
bi3, Hopeful Empowered Youth (HEY!), Interact for Heath and The Joe Burrow Foundation partnered to engage high school students in developing and participating in activities commemorating World Teen Mental Wellness Day (observed March 3 this year).
In total, 83 area schools applied and received up to $1,000 each for activities such as wellness fairs, speakers, and the promotion of resources like the National 988 Suicide and Crisis Hotline.
World Teen Mental Wellness Day is observed annually to raise awareness for the mental health issues teenagers face, promote mental wellness and determine solutions.
This is the third year local students have had the opportunity to receive funding to support activities. In the inaugural year, funding supported 11 high schools to create wellness rooms, host speakers, promote awareness of resources and the national 988 number and dedicate days to journaling and reflecting. Last year, more than 50 schools participated.
