Greater Cincinnati Foundation (GCF), in collaboration with bi3 Fund, BT RISE, Interact for Health, and the United Way of Greater Cincinnati, has awarded more than $1.5 million to 34 nonprofit organizations to help them meet the moment of a rapidly shifting funding landscape. As community needs rise and resources tighten, this collective investment responds to what nonprofits across the region say they need most right now: capacity, partnership, and stability.
“Our nonprofit partners are providing critical—often life-saving—services; strengthening families and neighborhoods; and acting as a cornerstone for cultural vibrancy and economic vitality,” said Rasheda Cromwell, chief impact officer at GCF. “This funding helps ensure they have the capacity and support needed to continue serving people with dignity—today and for the long term.”
For Jill Miller, president & CEO of the bi3 Fund, the initiative reflects bi3’s vision for a region where all people have a fair and just opportunity to achieve their best health. “This is a moment to show up for our nonprofit partners and each other. Through the Better Together Fund, we are mobilizing resources, partnering in the spirit of service, and fostering opportunities for capacity building, innovation, and growth. When we invest in community, we strengthen health, belonging, and quality of life for everyone who calls this region home.”
The need for this type of support is clear: 310 nonprofits applied for funding during this cycle. Beyond grant dollars, the Better Together Fund provides participating organizations with tailored consulting and capacity-building services from trusted experts who help strengthen business models, improve operations, and build long-term strategic plans. Partners include RevJen, Leadership Council for Nonprofits, OneSource Center for Nonprofit Excellence, and Pro Bono Partnership of Ohio.
The Better Together Fund demonstrates the power of shared purpose and collective action. When funders, capacity builders, and service providers bring together their collective strengths, they can create more impact than any single organization could achieve alone.
Planning for the next Better Together Fund cycle is already underway, with an anticipated launch in 2026. Due to ongoing planning discussions with grantees and stakeholders, not all 2025 Better Together Fund grant recipients will be announced at this time.
