HOW WE FUND
GRANT ELIGIBILITY
- The bi3 Fund awards planning and large, multi-year grants to 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations. As Bethesda Inc. is co-sponsor of TriHealth and a support organization of Bethesda Hospital, bi3 values and encourages a collaborative partnership when appropriate with TriHealth.
- bi3 awards grants to 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations located in the Greater Cincinnati area, including Hamilton, Butler, Clermont, and Warren Counties in Ohio.
- bi3 will fund the infrastructure of a project, but not the infrastructure of an organization. Reasonable project administrative costs may be included as a percentage of the project budget.
- bi3 will not fund health care levies, lobbying or political campaigns, annual operating support, emergency requests, scholarships, endowments, or grants to individuals. In addition, projects where bi3 grant funds account for more than 40% of the total operating budget of the lead organization will not be considered.
GRANT REQUIREMENTS
Grant Evaluation & Communication
Once awarded, funded partners agree to accept bi3’s grant monitoring protocol and grant payment schedule.
Due to the risk level and technical nature of large-scale grants, which may involve pilot projects and multi-stakeholder partnerships, bi3 reserves the right to fund a formal evaluation process using external consultants if warranted. In addition, bi3 agrees to provide technical assistance via our staff– or in select cases, outside resources.
Our agreements require grantees to work with bi3 and its communications counsel on announcement of the award, periodic public progress announcements and communication of final results.
